Even after the tree disaster, there still are some good things in my backyard.

I had to take pictures at a biker bar called Coyotes tonight. They were a little friendlier there than I expected.

Media Fitness Challenge: Day Four

You gotta love the battle scene from Anchorman. Perhaps we should do this instead of an actual challenge…

Media Fitness Challenge: Day Three

It has been brought to my attention that skinny little Sherri Talley has been talking some smack on her website. Us Times folk will not stand for this.  She says, “All I have to say is, Times News Team, obstacles are those pesky little things you see when you take your eyes off your goal. Redford and I are so focused on you!” Please. As Roy responded, “Case in point: You’re focused on spilled makeup; we’re pumping iron. Such a TV girl.” I can only say this: All you TV people are going down!

Today I got weighed-in for some sort of media fitness challenge. Basically I have two months to get into shape with the help of a personal trainer (named Superman!), because sometime in May is a competition involving a 1/2 mile run, push-ups, sit-ups, bench presses and tug-of-war. Joining me from The Times are Roy Lang and Nishia Livingston. It is us against the local TV folks.  Here are some photos of us before our 60 days of hell.

No More Tree of Death

The 100-foot tall pine tree that was leaning directly over my house at a rather alarming angle is no more. They came and cut it down today, and that required a crane and at least 10 men. I’m not sure what was more scary - knowing the thing was growing the way it was or watching the tree guys dangle 3,000-pound logs high above the roof with what looked like a strand of dental floss.

Today I shot gymnastics for the first time ever. I’m pretty sure my closet is brighter than the gym it was in, so getting decent stuff was a challenge. I’m not sure how “good” these are, but here are two shots that I like.
